Chester County Veterans Treatment Court Mentoring Program

Duties and Responsibilities

  • A peer mentor must be a US military veteran (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Reserve or National Guard).
  • Adhere to all Veterans Court Program policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with Veterans Affairs Services and veterans community resources.
  • Act as an ally, advocate, and role model for veterans involved with the criminal justice system.
  • Be available to attend all court sessions as needed.
  • Act professionally and respectfully towards other veterans, court staff, and staff of other agencies who work with the Veterans Court Program.

Volunteer mentors are expected to participate in training, observation, and supervision as part the Chester County Veterans Mentoring Program. The mentoring program is seeking a commitment of at least one year, if possible, from all volunteers.
